Choosing a Gifts for your groomsmen

Your groomsmen are most likely family members or close friends. At very least they are men you have known for a while. You know their individual likes and dislikes. Men by nature are not as sentimental as women, especially with things that don't directly impact their lives.

With that said skip the mushy memory type gifts, they don't want a coffee mug with yours and your brides name and wedding date on it

Leave those sentimental gift ideas for your bride and her bridesmaids.
Bring on the manly gifts, for your groomsmen. Most men enjoy a good steak dinner and beer. Take your best man and groomsmen ( don't forget the father's and grandfather's) out for a good hearty meal. Then head over to your favourite sports bar or pub, have a few beers, play some pool or darts. When the night is over give each of your groomsmen an appropriate gift. If money is an issue go for the BBQ and a quarter keg of beer. Kick the women out for the evening. Encourage them to have a girl's night out.

Gift idea's for your groomsmen

1. Music Lover - A couple of CD's by their favourite band (again make sure they don't already have them.)

2. Sport Lover - A piece of memorial of their favorite team or player, that they can add to their collection. (eBay always has a large selection.) Just make sure they don't already have the item you choose, in their collection.

3. Video Games - Video games are not just for kids. Some men love to spend hours in front of the TV playing quarterback for their favorite team, or kicking butt in the ring. The choices for video games is never ending. Just make you know what type of machine they have PS3 or X-box and of course make sure they don't already have the games you pick out.

4. Poker Player - Couple decks of poker cards, card shuffler and some poker chips

5. Smoking Friend - A nice refillable lighter, with a design that resembles their personality. Don't forget the can of lighter fluid

6. Golfer - Personalized Tee's, golf bag, or that 9 iron he keeps talking about.

7. Fisherman - A new fishing pole and tackle box.

8. Outdoorsmen - Nice canteen, one man tent or a backpack chair.

Make sure the price is close for each of the gifts you choose, you don't want one groomsmen holding a £10 CD while another is marvelling over his expensive new golf club. Don't forget your best man, it is appropriate to spend a little more money on him. If you do include the dad's and granddads be sure to get them a gift as well.

As long as you stay away from the "girly gifts" and don't present them each with a T shirt that reads GROOMSMAN across the front, you'll do fine. One last point, NO gift cards, they are impersonal, these men are your comrades, treat them as such.
