Choosing a winter wedding theme
Ah the magic of winter! And the magic of a wedding! Together they form the perfect combination for a memorable romantic day. More and more people are choosing to get married in the winters because of the romantic atmosphere and choice available.

Combine it with your favourite wedding theme and you are on your way to have a dream wedding. Here are some wonderful themes that you can try for a winter wedding

The Magical Christmas Theme

No one can think about winters without thinking about Christmas. If this is your favourite holiday, then use a Christmas theme for your winter wedding. The decorations not only look wonderful but are also easily available. Here are some tips to get that perfect Christmas wedding:

1. Put on a cute Santa hat
2. Incorporate the Christmas colours of red and white.
3. Hang mistletoe and share your first kiss as a married couple under it.
4. Use beautiful glittering Christmas lights to decorate the venue.
5. Serve Christmas food and drinks at the buffet.
6. Have a Christmas tree all decked up with Christmas ornaments, lights and figurines.

The Fun New Year's Theme

If you want to begin your life on the first day of the year, then New Year's Day is for you. The whole city is decked up with decorations and glimmering lights. It's as if the whole world has got together to celebrate your wedding. Here are a few tips to get that New Year theme in your wedding:

1. Use all the New Year's Eve celebration items.
2. Decorate the venue with red, yellow, blue and green lights
3. As you say "I do" your guests can join in the celebration by using the noise makers.
4. The wedding guests can put on party hats. And don't forget to take pictures of yourself in those party hats!
5. If your wedding is on New Year's Eve, you can actually join in the countdown and usher in the New Year with the person you are going to share your life with
6. Don't forget the confetti! Let the guests shower you with confetti.

A Fantasy Fairy Tale Theme

Now do you love fairy tales? Then use a theme just out of your favourite fairy tale. The Cinderella theme is always a favourite of romantic couples. Here are some tips to get that fairy tale wedding:

1. Get dressed up as a Princess for your wedding. Put on a tiara and wear pearls for a perfect Princess look.
2. Try and see if you can get an actual castle for holding your ceremony and reception. That will definitely make you both feel like Prince Charming and Princess Cinderella.
3. If you don't find a real castle, decorate the venue as a castle.
4. Have the reception in a ballroom
5. The groom can get dressed in white tuxedo
6. The guests can shower you with rose petals.
7. And don't forget a horse-drawn carriage to give that special touch to a fairy tale wedding.

The Traditional Medieval Theme

For those who are looking for a traditional and extra-romantic wedding, a medieval theme is most appropriate to get that medieval look in your wedding, here are a few things you can do:

1. Trumpets can announce your arrival and exit from the venue.
2. The bride can put on a wedding gown based on some gorgeous medieval designs. A hooded cape will not only protect you from the winter cold but also make you feel as if you are in the Middle Ages.
3.The best man and bridal party can get dressed in stylish historical outfits. Even the guests can join in.
4. Horse-drawn carriages for the couple will complete the medieval look.

The Snowy White Theme

You can't think about winters without the snow. So if you love snow, you can have a snowy white wedding.

1. Choose white as the colour of the wedding. Everything right from the attire to the flowers to the decorations can be white in colour.
2. A few snowmen at the entrance can welcome your guests.
3. Guests can shower you with white fake snow as you make an exit from the venue.
4. The vehicle you are using can be decorated with fake snow or white flowers to give that perfect snowy winter wedding look.
Winter is the perfect time to take your vows. Think about all the dreams that you always have had about your perfect wedding setting. Then pick a theme that is closest to that dream. Add your personal touches by picking decorations, food, invites and gifts of your choice and matching them with your chosen wedding theme. This is the day that you have been waiting for so long. Make it perfect. Make it a day that you can remember for years to come.

I really like the christmas theme. you could have ice blue , white, silver colour as your theme, your groom wear in gray suit so as his groomsmen.
For your ceremony you could have like snowy ceremony theme (i've seen picture somewhere i will post later)
This is really fab with the ice white and silver.

I love that color duo! I’m getting married in October with sapphire blue and steel grey for colors. Here’s a beautiful color I found that really shows off the striking contrasts you can achieve with these colors. I know it’s not exactly the same, but it’s similar enough that maybe you’ll find some inspiration from it.

You could hang your table plan on individual cards from a christmas tree. I also saw in a magazine that you could provide hand warmers or a pair of gloves as favours for the guests!

Winter weddings are memorable events because of the wedding itself and also because of the holiday season. If you are planning to have a winter wedding, you need to choose the right winter wedding colors and decorations.

Consider the place of your winter wedding. Most winter weddings are held indoors. This is because of the cold weather. You should think of the colors that will make the atmosphere warmer and will make the cold season cozy and inviting.
