1. Shop for smooth bras that
are smooth and free of
embellishment; lace and beads
will create a lumpy look.
2. Bring your stockings,
slimmer and bra to every wedding
dress fitting undergarments
greatly affect the fit of your
gown and, in turn, the
adjustments the seamstress
makes.
3. Buy a variety of bras to see
which style works best with your
wedding dress. Before handing
over your charge card, ask
whether the store offers a full
refund on items returned with
tags attached.
4.Although a slip may be built
into your wedding dress, an
additional one is often
necessary to enhance the shape
and fall of your gown.
5. The friction of a slip or
crinoline can sometimes shred
hosiery. Do a test run at home.
6. To avoid the onerous (and
nearly unfixable) wedding-day
wedgie, wear either thong
underwear or pantyhose with a
sewn-in liner.
7.Pack a few extra pairs of
hosiery, along with a bottle of
clear nail polish, in your
emergency supply bag. You don’t
want an ugly run to ruin your
look.
8. Prevent peeping-petticoat
syndrome: Find one that’s two to
three inches shorter than your
wedding dress.
9. Try on your entire ensemble
well in advance of your wedding
day. Do the control-top hose cut
your torso in two? Is the
outline of your garter evident?
Do the undergarments show
through the sheer fabric of your
gown? Replace whatever’s not
working.
